Um, we just found out that the animal hospital gave Vito the Metacam yesterday without asking my mom first, which they had said they would do. It's too late now to 'worry' about it, and, since none of you have had a negative thing to say about the drug, and since Vito's vet is even OK with it - except he said it can give 'false hope' sometimes - we're going to let it go...but that is probably why the fever came down...and we're not thrilled they didn't ask first...
Vito's vet (NOT the hospital) said that in his experience, the kind of fever a cat with FIP gets is a steady one around 103, so he thinks it's a 'good' sign that Vito is staying steady at 105...so far as the FIP diagnosis is concerned, I mean...otherwise, not such a good thing to have a 105 fever, but maybe Vito's body is hot enough now to kill whatever virus/infection/etc. is raging in him.

Sending many purrs for Vito.
OK, we'll step up the purrs for some healing with firepower!

We're still purring like crazy for Vito. We had two cats with FIP. They were litter mates. One had the "wet" FIP and the other had the "dry" FIP. Vito's symptoms don't sound like either kind to us. Of course, we aren't professionals, but we did experience both kinds. We are hoping they figure this out soon and you will be taking Vito back home to his Piggy.
well that is good news potentially about the FIP. our v-e-t thought that Miles had FIP a couple of years ago and did numerous very expensive blood tests just to find out that he did not have it and mysteriously his symptoms went away.
feel better little guy!
we are cheering for you!

We're still purring lots and lots for Vito to get well. It's a bit rude that the hospital didn't ask your Mom first, but our hope is that the v-e-t-s are just very focused on helping Vito get better.
{{{Hugs}} to all of you,

I am very glad that there are signs that what Vito has is not FIP. Maybe he can burn out the virus. Herman sends rumbly purrs.
Well this is some good news, we are still sending rumbly purrs and love to Vito.
Has the vet done a viral swab on Vito? Sometimes those URIs give such nasty fevers the vets look for the more serious things first.
